For the third year on the run Cortech Developments have sponsored Circus Starr, a touring circus boasting world-class, professional artists from across the globe. First founded in 1987, the organisation provides free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for local charities.
Last year Cortech were able to support 15 children but this year we are pleased to be able to help 35 underprivileged children as well as children with disabilities the chance to run away to the circus and forget their troubles for a day.
Circus Starr brings all the fun of the circus to children and families that may have found this difficult in the past. A circus is a family event that brings everyone closer, encourages creativity and allows people to become stronger and more able to face life’s challenges head on. Nearly 1.5 million UK families can’t afford a single day out together and 50% of families with disabled children have said that the stigma and discrimination they face makes them feel isolated. Circus Starr creates a magical world, harnessing the power of the circus and invites families with all kinds of different needs to have fun together in a safe, welcoming and unique atmosphere. They tour the UK bringing the very best in circus talent from around the world and stage 148 incredible, animal-free shows every year.
